What décor trends are anticipated for fall?
This fall, color schemes are all about projecting confidence and complexity. Dusty cedar is this season’s “it” color, adding a refreshing contrast to any fall color palette. Don’t be afraid to add textured accents to your home décor. Change out drawer pulls, entrance rugs, and accent pillows to create a new energy. Colors like spicy mustard, lipstick red, and deep fuchsia provide visual impact both in abstract and geometric patterns.
Joss Citrone of Sheridan Interiors agrees. “Come fall and winter, we’re going to see the resurgence of jewel tones, especially in accent pieces and accessories. People are opting for shades such as jade and emerald green, deep aubergine, and gold—not the pale yellow golds of yesteryear but a shade closer to ochre. We’re starting to cycle out of the cool, calming tones of grays and blues, and are shifting into color schemes that have more energy and excitement.”
But this won’t necessitate a complete do-over, according to Citrone. “The great news is that many people choose their anchor pieces in neutrals, so it’s an easy transition to make.” Another key trend this season is marble. Add accessories such as a marble-faced clock, a pair of candleholders, or coasters, which will make an affordable yet elegant statement. And if a modern, streamlined look isn’t your style, there’s good news: Florals are back! Large-scale floral patterns will be blooming in home interiors across the country.
