Just in case you aren’t familiar with A Better Chance (ABC), here’s a primer. Founded in 1963, this scholarship organization “has placed more than 14,000 talented young people of color into the nation’s leadership pipeline through increased access to academically rigorous independent and public schools.” And Wilton has every reason to be extra proud, because we have not one, but two robust ABC programs—one for high school boys and another for high school girls.
For the past 17 years, A Better Chance of Wilton has supported 32 young men and women through graduation from Wilton High School. By functioning without administrative costs, ABC of Wilton ensures that 100% of all donations directly support scholars. So pick up a ticket for the tour, and you’ll not only have fun, you’ll make a tangible difference in the lives of worthy young students.
ABC of Wilton is hosting its biennial Opening Our Hearts and Homes House Tour on Friday, May 29. Pay $50 in advance or $60 on the day, for a tour of four houses, remarkable for their architectural qualities, décor, and landscaping. An optional fifth tour of a stately 1940s home including an elegant garden luncheon for $80.
