Wilton author's debut novel "Uptown Quicksand" –– hard-boiled private eye meets Manhattan heiress
Congratulations to Will B. Mathews, the 28-year-old Wilton author who has just published his debut novel Uptown Quicksand, featuring the tales of down-on-his-luck private eye R.T. Graves.
After a short stint as a junior bond trader in Manhattan, Mathews decided it was time to pursue his dream. Inspired by the work of Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler, Mathews created a protagonist who has “few scruples, fewer friends, a dwindling business, and swelling debts.”
But it all changes when an uptown Manhattan heiress hires Graves to find her missing brother.
