Yoga for Hikers

Date/Time

Jul 21, 2018 to Aug 25, 2018
10:00 AM until 12:00 PM

This event occurs weekly, on Saturday.

Description

Hiking and practicing yoga outside in the fresh air leaves you feeling uplifted, centered, and peaceful! In warm weather months, we meet regularly in various parks and trails. Each event starts with a theme from yoga philosophy, intention setting, and warm up. Then we hike for about 60 minutes, enjoying the company of nature and each other. Light hearted conversation about yoga and life is encouraged! We stop at intervals and use tree trunks or rocks as our props for a few standing asanas ('postures') and upper body warm ups. Then we do asana practice for about 45+ minutes on our mats. We can get deeper into a practice of Vinyasa flows and Hatha stretches since we just had lots of movement walking and an earlier yoga warm up. The entire event lasts about 2 hours, with 1 hour total each of yoga and hiking, and about 3 miles distance.
