Walter Jenkins new art

Nov 2, 2018 to Jan 5, 2019
05:00 PM until 07:00 PM

Byrde + the b is pleased to announce an exhibit of Walter Fields new  artwork opening on Friday November 2 from 5-7:00pm at Byrde + the b, 10 Titus Rd, Washington Depot, CT 06794.  The exhibit will run through January 5, 2019.

Fields has written “Modernism holds no charms for me.  Depth of field is important.  Ryder, Vuillard, and Gustave Moureau I include among my masters”.  Fields’ world is darkly romantic, wry and curiously inviting.  His paintings are poetic and moody allegorical works. Figures appear in dream-like landscapes and interiors.  Fields emphasizes subtle variations in color with his spell-binding tonalist works.  He is a painter’s painter whose works are well crafted over time. The late works of Goya spring to mind when viewing Fields’ intimate works.

A former professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts in New York City.  He is the recipient of the Ingles Griswold Nelson Prize for painting.  Byrde + the b welcomes you in the journey of discovery of this extraordinary artist.
