Visions/Revisions Opens at CCP

Date/Time

Apr 8, 2017 to May 19, 2017

Description

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) announces the opening of Visions/Revisions on Saturday, April 8, 2017, with a reception from 3pm to 5pm. This exhibition features works by The Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England (PNSNE).

The year 2017 will mark the 25th anniversary of PNSNE’s inception; and the group is celebrating with an exhibit that will showcase two prints from each of 23 participating members. A common theme or subject of the artist’s choice will inspire both prints.

About the upcoming exhibition PNSNE member Joan Jacobson Zamore explained, “In Visions/Revisions, the Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England takes us inside the artist’s world by showcasing two versions of each artist’s vision, thus allowing us to view the transformation that occurs in a second print through variations in composition, imagery, style, the use of different materials or techniques.”

The Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England is a group of artist/printmakers, at various stages in their careers, many of whom are respected educators as well as award winning artists. Founded in 1992 as a result of the coordinated efforts of local artist/printmakers and the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, PNSNE seeks to preserve and incorporate the tradition of printmaking while encouraging creative expression and experimentation. Throughout the run of the exhibition, members of PNSNE will be giving demonstrations of the methods used to create the works on display as part of Visions/Revisions, information and demonstration schedule can be found on the Workshop page of the Center’s website, link below:

Like all exhibitions at the Center, Visions/Revisions is free and open to the public. It will be on display through May 19, 2017.
