Honeybees play a vital role in our food chain, pollinating one-third of the food we eat and producing a wide range of varietal honeys. Marina Marchese, author and Italian-trained honey expert, will present an intimate guided tasting of rare and exotic honeys with mead and cheese pairings. During the evening, she will explain how bees make honey, how terroir - floral source, seasonality, region and climate affect the color, aroma and flavor of each honey. This special event is the ultimate gourmet, honey lover’s experience!
Guest will have the opportunity to taste two kinds of locally made mead. Honey food pairings will include sweet and savory accompaniments such as cheese, fruit, chocolate, olive oil, nuts, bread, spices and herbs.
