Things To Do

Studio Painting/landscape, portrait and still life

Jan 28, 2017 to Mar 11, 2017
09:30 AM until 12:30 PM

This event occurs weekly, on Saturday.

Portrait and landscape painter Diane Dupuis is teaching a new class this winter at the Washington Art Association & Gallery. Winter provides the perfect opportunity for painters of all levels to focus on studio work and complete a summer landscape, or start something fresh and colorful.  Along with drawing and composition, color value relationships are the cornerstones of great paintings. Through individualized instruction, this class provides a deeper understanding of color mixing and value relationships for landscapes, portraits, still life, abstract or figurative work. Students are encouraged to work from favorite photographs or sketches and a still life will be set up weekly. Oil painting techniques are emphasized, but students may also work in acrylic or pastel.
