Description

The Cooper & Smith Gallery presents Skyward by New York artist Sheila Kramer. Sheila’s paintings are informed by her worldly travels, the landscapes and atmospheres observed from the cockpit of her single engine plane. Evocative skyscapes of luminous deep space emerge from shifting light and veils of color. About Sheila’s work, artist Stephen Westfall writes, "We have the concurrent sensations of looking at intensifications of light effects that occur at sunrise and sunset while also seeing color as a mineral experience....You'll watch meteorological weather become emotional weather." Opening reception with the artist on Saturday, February 25, 5 – 7 p.m. Light fare and live music. 10 Main Street, Essex, CT. Hours: Sun – Mon, 11 – 5; Thu – Sat, 11 – 6; Tue – Wed, by chance.
