Description

The Loft Gallery welcomes a new exhibition of paintings by Redding artist, Erin Nazzaro. Erin’s show will open on Saturday, November 18 and run through Wednesday, January 3, 2018.

An Artist’s Reception to celebrate her work will be held on Saturday, November 17 from 4-6pm. This is an opportunity for guests to meet the artist, chat with friends and fellow art enthusiasts, and enjoy light fare. The event is free and open to the community.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Erin started with pencil and paper, which remained her only medium for many years. Working in this way, she learned to develop and define the images and creations from her surroundings, and she still uses drawing as the foundation of her paintings today. Her evolution from pencil to paint began in the 1980’s and color changed everything for her, as she discovered a new avenue of creativity.

Much of Erin’s inspiration comes from her travels through the American Southwest, as she recreats in paint, the vibrant images of the people, their beautiful families and the land they live and work on. Erin’s work and energy very much thrives on the movement of swirling bright color that is integrated into that landscape, the fabric, dress and folk art.
