Mushroom Hunting

Sep 15, 2018
10:00 AM until 03:00 PM

Come learn all about the local wild mushrooms you can find in fall!  Ryan Bouchard and Emily Schmidt, co-creators of the Mushroom Hunting Foundation, will teach an in-depth class that shows you how it is done. Learn first-hand how to enjoy edible wild mushrooms. First, a slide show will cover the basics of mushroom science and safety, and the amazingly diverse fungi of our area’s Fall season (focusing on the ones considered “safe for beginners”).  Next, after a snack break, our group will head out into the woods and fields for a guided mushroom hunting adventure.  Then we’ll come back for a very special cooking demonstration. Items you may want to bring: notebook,  pen, camera, bottle of water. Please dress for walking in the woods. To register please visit:
