11:00 AM until 05:00 AM

Description

KMR Arts is proud to present MAYDAY, an exhibition of new photographs by Barbara Vaughn. Please join us for the opening reception with the artist on June 2, 2018, from 3-7pm, 2 Titus Road, Washington Depot, Ct. 06794. In this exhibition, Vaughn's second solo show at KMR Arts, the artist combines disparate imagery culled from her personal and professional archive to create new compositions which address societal issues and shortcomings.

The MAYDAY series explores the connection between two distinct bodies of work that stretch back 25 years: a study of decaying, decrepit architecture and a series of female nudes from the same period. In this unlikely pairing, Vaughn creates a psychologically charged narrative that obliquely references Louise Bourgeois' "Femme Maison" ("Woman House", or "Housewife"), albeit in the medium of photography.
