The Litchfield Historical Society invites you to learn more about Native American sports and recreation with a presentation by Lucianne Lavin, Director of Research and Collections at the Institute for American Indian Studies on Sunday, August 13 at 3 p.m. at the Litchfield History Museum.

Dr. Lavin, author of Connecticut’s Indigenous Peoples: What Archaeology, History and Oral Traditions Teach Us about their Communities and Cultures, is an anthropologist & archaeologist who has over 40 years of research and field experience in Northeastern archaeology and anthropology. The Institute for American Indian Studies is a museum and research and educational center in Washington, CT. Following the lecture, the Historical Society’s current exhibit, America’s Pastimes: Sports and Recreation in Litchfield, will be open to explore.
