Contemporary classical music composer & pianist Sharon Ruchman accompanied by cellist Mary Costanza, both of Washington, CT, will perform a selection of duets for piano and cello of Ms. Ruchman’s original compositions.
Sharon’s compositions have been described as having a unique, transcending quality. They are distinctive, contemporary style that includes a classical music orientation. Some pieces have a chamber music feel and others provide an upbeat, yet also soothing quality. Her pieces are lyrical since she loves writing beautiful melodies - serenity set to melody - and offer a variety of sounds and colors with all textural elements combined. Mary and Sharon’s performance includes a selection of signature pieces and begins with “Exultation” followed by “Sea Glass”, “Translucence” (2 movements), “Slow Tango”, “Milonga”, “Variations on a Theme in F” and finishes with “Sonata in F# minor”. Copies of the musicians CDs will be available for purchase.
