04:00 PM until 06:00 PM

The Loft Gallery will host a collection of works by abstract painter and collage artist, Tom Hlas of Norfolk, Connecticut. This exhibit will be on view from January 7 – February 19. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, January 14th from 4-6pm. The reception is free and open to the community.

Tom works primarily in acrylics and mixed media. His abstract work is often times conceptual, allowing the viewer to draw their own inspiration, meaning and enjoyment from each piece. He finds kinship and inspiration in the abstract expressionists, color field painters, and contemporary print makers and minimalist artists.

Tom studied drawing and painting with Ken and Laura Conley at Montgomery Community College in Rockville, Maryland. He was awarded a one-month artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont in 2009 and 2010.

The Loft Gallery is located on the second floor of The Smithy Store, 10 Main Street, New Preston CT 06777.
