Art Walk Returns to Ridgefield
“Sunrise” by Artist Nancy Moore
Starting August 21, 2015 Ridgefield’s streets and shops will once again be adorned with paintings, sculptures, photography, ink drawings, and digital art.
Art Walk Ridgefield will feature the colorful, dreamlike landscapes of Hans Fischer, the abstract paintings of Karen Beck, the whimsical sculptures of Chris Curnan, and the striking geometric silhouettes of Antonio Muñoz. There will be detailed cityscapes and townscapes by Tina Sturges, photographs of nature by John Ferreira, and graffiti art by Michael Cerullo—all Ridgefield-based artists.
With more than 80 participating artists from Ridgefield and the surrounding areas, this year’s three-week-long Art Walk will take place on Main Street and the Copps Hill/Marketplace area.
“Last year’s Art Walk event was so successful we decided to make it annual,” says Pamela Stoddard, executive director of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists.
Meet and greet artists on opening night: merchants will hold receptions with the artists whose work they are displaying from 5 to 8 pm. Festivities continue on Saturday from noon to 4 pm, with artists painting, drawing, or otherwise demonstrating their work outside shops to live music by RMAC musicians.
For the duration of the festival, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists will display one piece of artwork by each artist at the exhibit “Walk On Down.” Art Walk will come to its close on September 12. For more information, call 203-438-8863 or visit rgoa.org.
