The Art of It: Capitol Improvement
Weir Farm’s centennial visiting artist Xiomaro captured their renovation before and after.
The National Park Service commissioned Xiomaro, Weir Farm’s centennial visiting artist, to photograph the empty interiors of the key historic structures at Weir Farm National Historic Site during its 2011 renovation.
After the restoration was completed in 2014, he returned to photograph the stunning change.
His photographs will make up an exhibit that will occupy 250 feet of wall space in the main underground passage between the Legislative Office Building and the Capitol Building in Hartford. “Weir Farm, Restored,” a solo photographic exhibit, is on view until October 28, 2016.
