Tee Up the ’Q
Odeen's BBQ revamps golf course restaurant
Control of the restaurant at the Ridgefield Golf Course has changed hands a couple times in the last few years, and now Odeen’s Barbeque, a local caterer specializing in homestyle BBQ, has taken over. The restaurant’s main mission is to serve golfers: who are there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—“from sunup until sundown,” Marshall Odeen says.
Odeen’s is adding its bbq twist: not just bacon-and-egg sandwiches, but brisket, egg, and cheese. And for lunch it will serve up chili dogs, burgers, and pulled pork. The sausages for lunch sandwiches, he says, is made in-house and smoked on premises.
Odeen’s has a full dinner menu with signature dishes like grilled ribeye with caramelized onions and cheddar sauce, as well as keeping golf-club stalwarts like tuna sandwiches and a lemon honey grilled chicken sandwich. The restaurant also boasts a full bar, wine list, and six beers on tap. “There will be something for everyone,” says Odeen.
Odeen also plans to have an on-course food cart, call boxes for pre-ordering, and to offer a Sunset Special, aka, a happy hour that will have guests sipping half-priced drinks as the day ends. The wall of windows and outdoor patio offer a nice view. If you like meat, you’ll like Odeen’s at the golf course.
