Fore a Great Cause
Fundraising golf tournament benefits Family and Children's Aid - May 23
Family & Children’s Aid is hosting the annual Kid’s Cup Charity Golf Tournament on Monday May 23.
Every year Kid’s Cup brings the Danbury-area community together to participate in a day of golfing, fundraising, and fun. Guests will play a foursome scramble-style round at Richter Park, rated by Golf Digest as the fifth best course in the state, and one of the top 25 public courses in the country.
The three teams with the best scores each be awarded a prize. There is a dinner in the clubhouse, which includes a silent auction and raffle. What’s more, former New York Mets great Daryl Strawberry will attend the reception.
Family & Children’s Aid has been treating and supporting children with mental health issues for over 200 years. Each year Family & Children’s Aid uses the money raised from the Kid’s Cup Tournament to provide children and their families throughout Northwest Connecticut with high-quality mental-health care, safe homes, and therapeutic support. Only half of children with diagnosable mental health disorders will receive proper treatment, due to lack of access, lack of transportation, or financial constraints.
FCA’s goal is to ensure that those barriers do not stop children from receiving access to the mental healthcare they deserve.
