Is the state helping pay for solar installation?
YES. Through rebates that cover a percentage of the installation and equipment costs, Connecticut’s Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority (CEFIA) supports the installation of residential solar photovoltaic systems to those that qualify. Those interested must get an energy efficiency assessment either through the Home Energy Solutions Program, or through a private contractor, to determine solar panel functionality based on location, tree cover, and energy used. Once qualified, the CEFIA offers two residential solar incentives. Qualified homeowners can either purchase solar panels at a subsidized rate, or lease panels for little or, in some cases, no installation cost.
