Old and in the Lead

The Lime Rock Vintage Festival spans Labor Day weekend, featuring touring and racing cars dating from pre-World War II to the 1970s. The festival provides the opportunity to watch an eclectic mix of races and cars, from 80-year-old three-wheeled Morgans that first appeared in 1909 to the famous sports cars that raced at all the great events in the 70s.

Flying High

One of the world's great kiteboarders got his start hanging on Fairfield's beaches. Kiteboarders are, as a group, a paradox. Beach bums (said affectionately, of course), who soar to amazing heights, pulling off dazzling daredevil tactics. Meet Joe Ruscito. You will like him, you will fear him, you will be in awe of him.

Spectator Sport

Fairfielder David Johnston perused the Sherman School Soccer Fields last spring watching the Connecticut Crushers play.

The Clubhouse

Mike Porzio is the owner of The Clubhouse, which offers an All-Star teaching lineup of former Major Leaguers that specializes in professional pitching and hitting instruction for baseball and softball. It is a place where they put the teach on young baseball players.

Soccer Moms

These women aren't sitting on the sidelines - The Wilton Women's Soccer Group is combining exercise and fun.

Ace of Heart

Rev it up on the court: Cardio Tennis is a high-energy workout for tennis players of all levels—from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals.

Alternative Road Trip

From Norwalk to Danbury without a car. The proposed Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT), a multi-use regional trail connecting Norwalk, Wilton, Ridgefield, Redding, and Danbury.

Ten Minutes With Noah Farrell

At 13, Noah Farrell already holds impressive credentials in the world of junior tennis. Low key yet confident, Farrell admits there has never been a day he doesn’t enjoy playing tennis.

Extra Innings

The Ridgefield Reds play with great heart — and sore muscles. Some older athletes are able to play baseball and win games well past their prime.

Outstanding Goals

Clubbing It

Private clubs such as The Lake Club, Wilton Riding Club and Rolling Hills Country Club all provide an answer to the hot and humid weather that will surely plague Wilton in the summer months this year. Activities such as golf, tennis and horseback riding make these clubs great for the whole family.

Air Time

Lou Heumann negotiated with the YMCA to build a skate park in town. Many local skaters went to board meetings to show their support and on opening day over 100 happy skateboarders filled the park.
