You’re in for a treat at Watertown's Main Street Grill.
You’re in for a treat if you are anywhere near Watertown. Main Street Grill has set up shop and it is a winner. Open just months, this has become one of the most popular new restaurants in the area. The charcoal-gray interior features a rustic brick wall that runs the length of the restaurant. To the right, tucked away in the corner, is a cozy bar that features new and unusual wines and liquors. Owner and executive chef John Bourdeau, formerly a co-owner of Lucia’s Ristorante in New Milford, and Chef de Cuisine Joe Rubbo (pictured) have created a Mediterranean menu with touches of many other European flavors.
The servers are dressed in charcoal gray and the hostess Stacey is accommodating and friendly. Start with the fresh kale romano croutons and red pepper, soy glazed beef satay, or coconut curry mussels. Entrees include chicken cordon bleu with crispy polenta and roasted Brussels sprouts (unlike any you’ve had before), pork loin with chorizo, poblano, jack cheese, grilled asparagus, and truffle mashed potatoes, or the soy ginger glazed salmon on basmati rice, heirloom cherry tomatoes and French green beans. Then there’s dessert—pistachio cake, chocolate tart with olive oil, or the blue-cheese cheesecake.
