Catch That Pumpkin
In an area renowned for breathtaking seasonal foliage, Kent is a crown jewel—in fact, it was not too long ago named best place to see fall foliage On Sunday, Oct. 27, the 37th Annual Kent Pumpkin Run provides an abundance of festive fall entertainment on the picturesque Kent Green: races, food, face painting, costume contests, scarecrows, a car raffle, and more.
Begin the morning with the Kids Fun Run, partnering this year with the Kent Center School Kid’s Marathon Program, which encourages children to walk and run for fun and health. Runners who participate in costume have a double chance to win fun prizes: once as a competitor, and once for imaginative attire. Not a big athlete? No worries—this race is especially enjoyable for spectators, who are welcome to marvel at costumes and cheer on family and friends from the sidelines. The Kent Pumpkin Run benefits many important local charities, such as the Julia’s Wings Foundation and Race for Aydan. Additionally, the Kent Food Bank will be accepting donations at the start/finish area on race day.
