Taberna, a Mediterranean staple on Bridgeport’s Madison Avenue since 2008, opened a second location in the Brick Walk in June. “We did a great job and got a good reputation in Bridgeport, and customers kept asking when we were opening a new location,” says owner Daniel O. Lopez. “Then the former Baro space opened up in Fairfield.”
The menu will feature pastas, salads, and fan-favorite entrées like the signature Paella Classica Valenciana. However, the main focus will be on wine and tapas. Crostini with imported Serrano ham and Manchego cheese, empanadas stuffed with mushrooms and roast beef, and fish croquettes are just a few of the small plates created with sharing in mind. The large, open bar is a great spot for pre- or post-dinner cocktails, and reservations will be accepted.
