Get Me to the Greek
GRK Grill is an authentic greek “gyrathico.”
In Greece, gyros are the most popular take-out food, and now Fairfield has its own authentic “gyrathico.” GRK Grill opened in June by friends Stacey Andrea and Sofia Togridis, in the space formerly occupied by Eren’s Grill. Nestled in the middle of an unassuming plaza, the attractive space boasts cozy tables covered in butcher paper, cheerful blue walls lined with artsy black and white photographs of Greece, and a friendly staff.
“My family has owned restaurants in Greece for over 25 years,” Togridis explains. “Everything on the menu is beyond traditional,” adds Andrea, “it’s real, authentic Greek food.”
For example, truly authentic gyros add a few French fries, plus a touch of ketchup and mustard to the traditional ingredients of pork, tomato, onion, and Tzatziki wrapped in a tender pita. “It’s so good, and not what you’d expect,” says Andrea.
Also try the Chicken Souvlaki, tender Greek meatballs (beefteki) and house made Baklava too—they will make you say “Opa!”
