Source Be With You
Courtney Hartl and husband Matthew always dreamed of one day opening a coffeehouse, but figured it was a long-range goal. When an acquaintance purchased the building in Black Rock that previously housed Port Coffeehouse, complete with all its equipment, the couple’s dream became a reality. “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity,” says Courtney.
In January, Source Coffeehouse celebrated its two year anniversary serving up rich, directly sourced coffee, organic teas, and in-house baked goods like muffins, scones, and sweets like homemade whoopie pies.
“It’s really important to us that we offer high quality coffee that is carefully and ethically sourced. We want to know that our farmers are being paid a fair wage and are being treated respectfully,” she continues.
On the weekends, Source serves a full breakfast, including the wildly popular and locally inspired Texas toast breakfast sandwich (bread from Fairfield Bread Company, local eggs and bacon, plus garlic butter).
There are also yummy omelettes, tasty waffles, and fluffy pancakes.
