Dixie Doughnuts to also serve doughnut sandwiches
Shortly after launching her food blog, Whisk+Brush, Becca Bryan began receiving catering requests.
She enlisted the help of friend Betsy Arroyo, and the “perfect relationship” began.
“It was awesome because we had a good groove with each other,” Becca recalls.
In 2014, when approached by the Black Rock Farmer’s Market about opening a food stall, they’d just completed a doughnut recipe and decided to give it a whirl.
Soon their signature vanilla bean doughnuts gained a cult-like following. Enter “Dixie”—the affectionately named trailer they purchased to convert into a mobile doughnut shop. After a successful Kickstarter campaign that funded its renovation, Dixie Doughnuts is set to hit the road this spring.
In addition to doughnuts, Dixie will serve doughnut sandwiches (minus the icing) and herb-infused lemonade sweetened with local Red Bee Honey. Find Dixie at local markets and festivals, or hire her for your next private party.
