More Than Meets the Eye

Eddie Nino, a native of Colombia, and long-time resident of Norwalk, is not just a professional fine artist, but also a gifted teacher of painting, drawing, composition, and color.
Inspired by Hopper and O’Keeffe for this untitled work, Nino says, “This is not just a painting of an orchid that feeds on light and water but a solitary organism that occupies a specific moment in space and time.”
Nino’s past training at the Grand Central Academy of Art and the Art Students League of New York, with teachers such as Harvey Dinnerstein, Michael Grimaldi, and Max Ginsburg, prepared him for a career in art that has a traditional foundation but with a modern vision.
Yale University Art Gallery tapped Nino for talks on understanding artworks held on February 20 and March 12, 2016.
