| Description |
Susan Jordan’s passionate love of nature is reflected in her realistic watercolor paintings. Whether painting fresh flowers, gardens in bloom, still-life’s or landscapes, Susan’s artwork captures a story in transparent color that welcomes the viewer into familiar scenes of warmth and comfort. Her mastery of this delicate medium and her ability to utilize a strong interplay between light and shadow is apparent in every brush stroke, as is her natural gift for artistic composition. Susan Jordan was elected a signature member of the National Watercolor Society in 1978. She has won numerous awards for her paintings including the New England Award for Watercolor at Silvermine, New York. Her love of drawing and painting began at an early age in England where she was born and educated but she did not discover her true medium until studying watercolor under the tutelage of Harold Holly. Throughout the years, Susan has created a storybook of artwork influenced by the diverse scenery in England, California, Connecticut and travels abroad with her husband, Rocky and their two children, Christopher and Catherine. Susan’s artwork is represented by the Carmel Art Association in California and the P.S. Gallery in Litchfield, Connecticut. In the gallery: May 1- May 25.
