“Color Streams” by Jennifer Sabella Opening reception 06/08/2012 (on display until July 3)
June—Troy Fine Art proudly presents the work of Jennifer Sabella, whose color stream paintings flow, seeming endless, yet orderly and not so symmetrical. Sabella is a native of Westport, Connecticut. As the daughter of Broadway dancer and actress Bambi Linn, Jennifer was surrounded by art, artists, theater and actors through her youth. She absorbed all the creativity and eventually as an adult, sifted through her life of observation, creating her own artistic vision using different techniques and mediums.
After many years of experimentation, her own style emerged using colors, pigments, canvas and other materials, as well as with different approaches to painting and constructing. Her fascination with color places her in the company of Gene Davis, Frank Stella and Mark Rothko. What sets her apart is the strength, depth and heavy dimension in each “Color Stream” painting. Each piece has hundreds of color variations, some hues hidden behind so many other streams of color that they are barely detectable, yet they still manage to stand out making each work vibrant and mesmerizing. These works transform the mood from painting to painting, depending on how and when you view it.
Her work is in private collections around the globe. She’s participated in seven solo and three group shows and is represented by Troy Fine Art Service in Southport, CT. Opening reception on Friday June 8th from 6:15 to 8:30 pm. RSVP is required as space will be limited.
