Brookfield Craft Center will be presenting a series of exhibitions this summer featuring the work of local craft artists in a variety of media. To highlight the variety of craft and creative work produced by our community, the opening of each show will be sponsored by a select group of local vintners, restaurants and farmers. These exhibitions are intended to shine a spotlight on the high quality of locally produced handmade fine crafts, such as pottery and jewelry and the artisanal wines and foods of Connecticut.
Opening Saturday, June 30th 2012 — July 15
Local Ground; Pottery and Ceramic Work from Around Here:Local potters, sculptors and tilemakers exhibiting their work in clay.
The first show “Local Ground: Pottery and Ceramic Work from Around Here” will include recent work from local potters Sarah Bernhardt, Joy Brown, Clare Lewis, Elizabeth MacDonald, Alison Palmer, Christine Owen and others and will be sponsored by DiGrazia Vineyards and RW's Barbecue, both of Brookfield. The show’s opening reception will be on Saturday, June 30th between 6:00 and 9:00pm and all are welcome to come see this fine work and get a taste of Connecticut. The Show will run until Sunday, July 15.
Opening Saturday, July 21 2012 — Aug 4: Local Adornment; Local Jewelry, Baubles, Bangles and Beads. Local jewelers, bead makers and designers. Details to follow
Opening August 18th 2012 — Sept 1
The Village Smithy; Work by our local Blacksmiths. Blacksmiths and Bladesmiths from the area exhibit their work in iron and steel. Details to follow
Opening Sept 22, 2012 — Oct 6
The Forest and the Trees; Local Woodturning and Fiber Arts. The work of local Turners, Weavers , Knitters and Basket Makers. Details to follow
