37th Annual Oyster Festival
For almost 40 years, the Oyster Festival has been rocking the shore in Norwalk. With live music, arts and crafts, rides, and tons of food with a few good beers too, you can’t go wrong for some weekend family fun.
The event runs from Friday, September 5th through Sunday, September 7th at Veteran’s Park near the Norwalk Harbor on Seaview Avenue. Admission is $10 for adults on Friday and $12 on Saturday and Sunday. Children 5 to 12 years old are $5. U.S. military personnel on active duty are free. All entertainment is included in ticket prices.
And, there’s some really cool entertainment this year! On Friday, Scott Stapp of Creed will be playing at 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will rock it out with their best hits like I Love Rock ‘N Roll, Bad Reputation, and I Hate Myself for Loving You. On Sunday at 1:00 p.m., the U.S. Army Band The Volunteers will take the stage.
Sunday is Family Day. One child aged five to 12 is admitted free with one adult admission. From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., you can get $15 admission bracelets for all rides. And from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at selected booths, there will be specially priced kids meals.
Hours are 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. One caveat to keep in mind for this year: Backpacks and large tote bags will not be permitted on to the field. If you have a diaper bag, you are welcome without any restriction.
