Rooms With A View in Southport

Rooms With A View in Southport

Think your home could use a facelift? Why not stop by Rooms With A View at Southport Congregational Church this weekend.  This is the 18th annual show featuring 12 different designers who create vignettes in a 5’ x 8’ space.

This year, the theme is “Design on a Shoestring.” For those who want to redecorate but with a budget in mind, this may be the event for you. The mini-rooms can be found in the library and great hall of the church along with a marketplace of 30 vendors all for your holiday shopping needs. There will be a café for those who need a quick snack for a pick-me-up. Stick around for their fashion show and English tea.

And if you remember the hit show on Bravo, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, you might recall interior designer, Thom Filicia. He is the honorary chairman of the event this year and will be present at the Preview Party. Originally scheduled for Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the party is now set for Friday at the same time.

Then, the showcase kicks into high gear on Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Sunday, November 4th, the event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Southport Congregational Church is located at 524 Pequot Avenue. For more information, call 203-255-4538 or visit them online at southportucc.org.

About This Blog

Fairfield is a quaint little shore town tucked along the Gold Coast of the Long Island Sound. In 2006, Money Magazine rated the town as the ninth best place to live in the United States and the best place to live in the Northeast. We are a thriving community of active residents who walk, bike, hike, and run. And for our canine friends, it's a dog's life at the beaches and the hiking trails at Lake Mohegan. It is a great place for families and, with two major universities, it is a great place for students both young and old. With two epicenters of commerce on Post Road and Black Rock Turnpike, there is a range of shopping opportunities from major chains to Mom and Pop shops. Looking for a fun night out? Park your car in the center of town and the world is your oyster! See a concert at the Fairfield Theatre Company. Catch a movie at the Community Theater. Grab a bite to eat or a quick drink at any of the amazing restaurants peppered along the main drag. This blog celebrates all the things that are happening around town. Stop by and come see what all the fuss is about.
