It’s time for the Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield’s fourth annual Touch-a-Truck fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, September 16 (Raindate: September 23) from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe High School. At this family-friendly event, kids of all ages can hop into the driver’s seat of more than two dozen vehicles, refuel on popcorn, cotton candy, tacos, Italian ice and baked goodies, then make a pit-stop for any number of activities, including face painting, bounce houses, go-karts, a roaming railroad, music, a fun bus and a even a safari show.

Touch-a-Truck proceeds, which totaled over $12,000 last year, will benefit the club’s scholarship fund for exceptional young women from local Fairfield high schools. Proceeds from the event support our club's scholarship program for young women who attend Fairfield high schools. Families from Fairfield and all surrounding towns are welcome to join us for this festive and educational event.

The Junior Women's Club of Fairfield was formed in 1965 to promote community service and provide members with the chance for personal enrichment, leadership experience and social interaction. The club is open to women in Fairfield and surrounding towns.

About This Blog

Fairfield is a quaint little shore town tucked along the Gold Coast of the Long Island Sound. In 2006, Money Magazine rated the town as the ninth best place to live in the United States and the best place to live in the Northeast. We are a thriving community of active residents who walk, bike, hike, and run. And for our canine friends, it's a dog's life at the beaches and the hiking trails at Lake Mohegan. It is a great place for families and, with two major universities, it is a great place for students both young and old. With two epicenters of commerce on Post Road and Black Rock Turnpike, there is a range of shopping opportunities from major chains to Mom and Pop shops. Looking for a fun night out? Park your car in the center of town and the world is your oyster! See a concert at the Fairfield Theatre Company. Catch a movie at the Community Theater. Grab a bite to eat or a quick drink at any of the amazing restaurants peppered along the main drag. This blog celebrates all the things that are happening around town. Stop by and come see what all the fuss is about.
