Comedian Bill Engvall at FTC August 5th
Bill Engvall, a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with other comedy notables such as Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White, is coming to Fairfield Theatre Company on Sunday, August 5th.
Known for his take on “redneck” humor, Engvall believes stupid people should have a sign. That way, the rest of us know better than to ask them for any pertinent information. Not familiar with his “Here’s Your Sign” routine? Here’s a little taste:
Flying a kite with his son, a passerby says, “Y’all flyin’ a kite?” He replies, “Nope, fishin’ for birds! Here’s your sign.”
The group’s first of six Blue Collar Comedy Tours launched in 2000. The tours were so popular that they spawned into movies, a satellite radio show, and a television show, Blue Collar TV.
The San-Antonio Express News says, “Bill Engvall worked the circular stage at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo on Monday night like everyone's favorite uncle, sharing humorous observations worthy of a backyard barbeque.”
“I guess if I had to pick a style I would say that I am more of a storyteller,” Engvall reflects. "I like to take the people on a journey that winds through life's stages - getting married, having kids, raising them and watching them go off to college and stuff like that. It's a journey that is relatable to a lot of people. I have never been a fringe kind of comic. It's always been right down the middle of the road for me, and clean.”
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for the 7:30 showing at The Klein Theater located at 910 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. Tickets start as low as $55.
