Outdoor Activities: Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Golfing in Bedford, NY
After a long, cold, and brutal winter I think we are all welcoming this summer with open arms. We have been stuck inside for awhile and now it is time for us to get outside and be active. The Bedford area has a variety of outdoor activities. A lot of parks offer swimming, tennis, walking, and more. There are great hiking and biking trails for you to try. And if you want a more relaxing day, there are public golf courses to play.
Bedford Memorial Park, Greenwich Road, 914-234-3246
This park offers tennis, basketball, swimming, fishing, soccer, paddle tennis, and a play area. There is also a place for you to relax and have a picnic.
Bedford Hills Park, 60 Haines Road, 914-666-7150
This park has a lot of activities here as well. Similar to Bedford Memorial Park there is swimming, tennis, basketball, fishing, and a play area.
Katonah Memorial Park, 38 High Street, 914-232-9349
Katonah provides the same activities as the other two parks. However, this one also has walking trails for you to take an adventure on.
Beaver Dam Park, 115 Beaver Dam Road
This park is a dog park and is only open to residents in Bedford. This park also has great walking trails for you and your dog.

Blue Mountain Trails, 45 Welcher Ave, Peeksill, NY, 914-862-5275
Offers 20 miles of mountain biking for all levels. There is also twelve miles of hiking, and walking. $10 to park.
Graham Hills Park, Route 117, Mount Pleasant, 914-231-4500
There is 5 miles of hiking and mountain biking through some cool habitats on this trail. This trail is for more experienced bikers.
North County Trailway, Old Sawmill River Road
This trail goes from Westchester up to Putnam County. It is 22 miles of a paved trail.
South County Trailway
This trail goes from the center of Westchester to the south part of Westchester. It is 14 miles of a paved multi-use trail.

The hiking trails run for 2.3 miles through woods, open fields and gardens. The trails are open from 8 a.m. to dusk.
Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Mount Kisco, NY
Westmoreland Sanctuary is the home to many animals. They conserve the local wildlife here. You can plan a tour on their website and hopefully you will see some cool animals on your visit.
Mianus River Gorge Preserve, 167 Mianus River Rd, Bedford, NY, 914-234-3455
The Mianus River Gorge Preserve has over 5 miles of trails in the woods. The trails are only open to hiking and is open from 8:30 am until 5 pm.
Henry Morgenthau Preserve, Route 172, Pound Ridge, NY, 914-232-1999
The Henry Morgenthau Preserve is set along and under the Blue Heron Lake. It is made up of four ecological communities and has three trails to go along.
Pound Ridge Golf Club, 22 High Ridge Rd, Pound Ridge, NY, 914-764-5771
This public golf course has a par of 76 from the longest tees. Pound Ridge Golf provides lessons, a driving range, and golf rentals. Find out more about the golf club on their website.

This public golf course has a par of 72. The course has many hills and is surrounded by farm houses.

Ridgefield Golf Course is a beautiful course lined with trees and neighborhood views. The course has a par of 74 and includes hills and ponds.
