Celebrating 50 years with BUTI
Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) celebrated its 50th anniversary
Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) celebrated its 50th anniversary August 6 with daylong music festivities. The afternoon concert featured performances by students, faculty, and alumni, and was emceed by actress Lauren Ambrose (BUTI ’94, ’95).
WGBH radio host Ron Della Chiesa, Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) percussionist Kyle Brightwell, Ambrose, Lynne Allen (dean of BU College of Fine Arts), BSO bassist Larry Woolf, and BSO assistant conductor Ken-David Masur;
composer Nico Muhly, Ambrose, longtime BUTI artistic director Phyllis Hoffman (honored at event), and Dean Lynne Allen;
and current students and alumni take a final bow at the end of the performance.
