The Extra Special Tea shop lets customers explore and sample teas, served by people with special needs.
Great Barrington can boast having the county’s first tea house. Extra Special Teas, 2 Elm Street, will be serving up warm pots from all over the world. This cozy and inspired tea shop will let customers explore and sample teas, served by people with special needs. Founded by the Sanes family, EST is a supportive environment where adults of different abilities can work and be part of a larger community.
As a non-profit, Extra Special Teas hopes to open five more locations by 2025 to help more people with special needs become employed. Thanks to partial funding by the state of Massachusetts, they are able to provide vocational day training to participants, which helps with gaining real world job experience. With a great cause, great place, and great tea, everything about Extra Special Teas makes it extra great.
