A therapeutic stable - 22nd Annual Fun Day on Aug 27, 2016
Your therapist knows you so well, you can communicate through telepathy and a few gestures. That’s the kind of relationship students/riders at Blue Rider Stables in North Egremont have with their horses. The stable provides a therapeutic, fear-free experience to the community, serving a record 800 students—children, teens, adults with special needs, rehab patients—last year, and the numbers continue to rise.
Blue Rider celebrates its 25th anniversary with several events, including its 22nd annual Fun Day of pony rides, food, Roger the Jester, and free entertainment on Aug 27, 2016 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at French Park in Egremont.
An anniversary benefit, “Horse of a Different Color,” will be held on September 17 at Chesterwood, with proceeds going toward the care of the stables’ 13 horses and three donkeys (ages 9-29), and to help fund the nearly $15,000 in scholarships awarded annually to students. Bluerider.org
