The internationally acclaimed REBEL ensemble will perform the vibrant music of J.S. Bach and his rather eccentric protégé, Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, at the Bedford Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 4 pm. This event is associated with REBEL’s annual concert series at the church, “Musica Antiqua Nova.” (Click here for show info)
Formed in 1991, the group (named for the innovative French Baroque composer Jean-Féry Rebel) utilizes authentic, period instruments to recreate tunes from the 17th and 18th centuries. By employing a highly expressive and provocative approach to a Baroque and Classical repertoire, REBEL (pronounced “Re-BEL”) captivates listeners. The New York Times has praised REBEL as “sophisticated and beguiling.” Come listen, stay for the reception, and greet the performers!
