The Art of It: Perfect Imperfections
Explore beauty through a new lens. Artist Elinor Carucci takes us into her home and exhibits inner and outer beauty through intimate photographs of herself and her family.
The Israeli-born photographer’s Closer collection is showcased at the Louis-Dreyfus Family Collection in Mount Kisco. In “My Mother’s Lips,” Carucci shares her earliest memories of her mother in red lipstick. Upon closer inspection, the viewer notices the imperfect outline of the lips.
Carucci wants to share her mother’s flaws and insecurities as well as her beauty and hopes to share the universal human condition of having these insecurities while conducting life with grace.
The Louis-Dreyfus Family Collection is open to schools, museums, and art groups by appointment only.
