Love Your Dog
Soon after quitting his finance job this past December with “no immediate plan,” Katonah’s Tom Buckley spent a few weeks decompressing and walked the woods, teaching his dog Rosie to find fallen antlers. “She’d been a couch potato before, but I noticed an increase in her energy with all the new activity. When she found an antler, I gave her a treat,” Buckley says. Eventually Buckley grew concerned about what was inside the commercial treats he was giving to his Vizsla. “I did some research and began to make my own treats,” he explains. “Rosie was my inspiration.”
With the assistance of a veterinarian-nutritionist, Buckley experimented in his kitchen and soon locked down his recipe for handcrafted dog treats. In response to positive feedback, Paw Fuel was born.
“Our commitment to dogs is to make a healthy, tasty, and chemical-free dog treat which is totally natural. We use only American-grown ingredients,” says the former Navy man and Fox Lane grad, whose business slogan captures the spirit of all that is important to this dog treat entrepreneur, “Love your dog. Love your country.”
