Old World, New Values
Siegel Bros. Marketplace in Mt. Kisco takes working with local growers to heart
“Our aim is to bring an old-world food marketplace to upper Westchester,” says Jeremy Nevins, one of three brothers behind Siegel Bros. Marketplace in Mt. Kisco.
The 2,500-square-foot store has cases brimming with meat, seafood, poultry, and cheese. What sets it apart? “We’re a nose-to-tail operation,” Nevins says.
The brothers developed relationships with small farms within a 200-mile radius. Customers can watch craft butchery behind the meat counter. The cheese-and-charcuterie area features items from all over the world, and Chef David Nevins describes his prepared foods as “unique but approachable.”
There’s a grab-and-go section with soups, sandwiches, and craft beers. Next door is the Siegel Bros. Wine Store, with a focus on small, family-owned properties.
“Our customers’ palates are the ones that matter, so we don’t rely on ratings here.” Mr. Nevins says the focus in both stores is “quality in terms of both product and service.”
