New Kid on King Street
King Street Restaurant and Bar opens up in Chappaqua
This neighborhood, friendly bar and restaurant where, yes, everybody just may know your name, is quickly becoming a Chappaqua favorite. Owner Roy Reeves has imported Chef Jordan Lucchini from Reeves’ former Deer Park Tavern in Katonah via his Ridgefield Bissell House to commandeer the kitchen of the new King Street Restaurant & Bar. Located in the heart of town, the restaurant sports dark wood, tiled floors, and a handsome club-style dining room.
Great bar food and starters include appetizers like the Duck Confit and Shiitake Sliders served on brioche with a cranberry aioli, Fig and Prosciutto Flatbread with caramelized onions and basil essence, and the Cornmeal Crusted Calamari with spicy Sriracha chili aioli. The changing menu will always include homey favorites like the Crisp Skin All Natural Chicken with chickpea fritters, artichokes, and roasted eggplant caviar ($21.95), Pan Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops with wilted arugula, oven cured tomatoes, artichoke ravioli, white truffle essence and pancetta crisp ($26.95), and the Slow Braised Short Ribs with celery root, parsnips, wild mushrooms and a merlot reduction ($22.95). Burgers and sandwiches ($11.95 to $19.95) include the Kobe Burger, Ahi Tuna BLT, or the Classic Lobster Roll served with sweet potato fries.
King Street will soon have outdoor tables where you can mingle with passing neighbors, people watch, and enjoy dining al fresco. Lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch with continuous service daily. —Julia Reis
