Started by a Katonah book club after reading the passionate call-to-arms bestseller, Half the Sky, the Katonah Education Exchange Program supports the education of at-risk girls on the other side of the globe.
2. GIRLS WHO CODE
Brand new to Fox Lane High School, this club teaches girls the skills to thrive in every facet of computing from robotics to game design to debugging their own projects.
3. GIRLS ON THE RUN
Look to nearby New Canaan for a chapter of Girls On the Run, an organization that, through running, teaches girls that their potential is limitless.
4. SMART GIRLS
Girls work their bodies and minds at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. Nutrition, relationships, and education are discussed plus there’s an exploratory summer science program.
5. GIRL SCOUTS
It’s more than just cookies. Local troops offer opportunities to earn patches in areas key to success in the 21st century.
