Westmoreland Sanctuary’s interactive production of The Wizard of Oz
Cast of Westmoreland Sanctuary's The Wizard of Oz.
Westmoreland Sanctuary’s interactive production of The Wizard of Oz takes audience members on an adventure in Westmoreland’s woods, as a young Dorothy Gale and her companions (the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion) embark on an expedition through the extraordinary Land of Oz. The four friends encounter a host of challenges in their quest to reach the Emerald City and meet the Wizard, whom they hope will provide a solution to their various problems. Denise Simon presides as the director.
Established in 1957 as a nature center and wildlife preserve, Westmoreland boasts an impressive 640 acres of land offering an array of activities for visitors of all ages. The site’s original mission was to “promote nature appreciation, preservation and conservation generally, for the present and future benefit and enjoyment of the public;” currently, the organization offers educational programs, recreational activities and events that foster a comprehensive understanding and engagement with the surrounding environment.
The Wizard of Oz promises to be fun for the whole family. Performances will be held July 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and 31, 2016. You’ll find Westmoreland Sanctuary located at 260 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Mount Kisco. Tickets available at westmorelandsanctuary.org
