Bedford Recreation & Parks has adult teams for tennis, volleyball, softball, hockey and basketball
Team play isn’t just for kids anymore. If you miss running the bases, you’ll be happy to know that Bedford Recreation & Parks Department sponsors a Men’s Spring Softball League. Players must reside or work in the Town of Bedford. Nearby Lewisboro offers a Women’s Softball League and welcomes players from Bedford, Katonah, and Pound Ridge.
If swinging a racquet is more your style, you might consider joining the competitive yet fun Women’s Tennis League through the Bedford Rec. Or the Pound Ridge Tennis Club offers Tennis Team Competition for both men and women.
You can keep moving in the winter on the recently renovated Katonah Platform Courts through Platform Tennis demonstrations, lessons, and games, organized by Bedford Recreation & Parks. Or try a court of a different sort by showing up for Pound Ridge Recreation & Parks Department’s Men’s Basketball Nights or Co-Ed Volleyball Nights, both held at Pound Ridge Elementary School.
Finally, Bedford Bears Men’s Hockey offers three levels of team play in Katonah at the Harvey School’s Evarts Rink and competes against teams from Rye, Darien, Stamford, New Canaan, Greenwich, and more. The Bears big season is winter, although they play year-round.
